Executive Producer
A California native by way of Brooklyn, East Nashville newbie Ashlee McDonald made her way to CMT after gigs in artist relations at iHeartRadio, artist marketing at Warner Music, TV production at CBS College Sports, and film development at Paramount Pictures. Currently Executive Producer of CMT Radio, she oversees content and programming initiatives, including CMT Headliners with Cody Alan, and CMT’s partnership with Vanderbilt University’s Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital, bringing to young patients unforgettable performances and interviews with country stars at the hospital’s Seacrest Studios.
Having spent many of her formative years at her grandparents’ Texas home – and receiving her degree from Texas Christian University (GO FROGS!) - her adoration of outlaw country, Southern roots rock, whiskey, and dive bars is evident in her championing of country music’s gritty party spirit. When she’s not sampling Tennessee’s illustrious whiskey offerings at a loud gig, eating tacos, or watching a grisly true crime documentary, she can be found doing yoga with her four cats in the home studio she calls the Zen Factory.
Once, Keith Richards gave her a used pack of Marlboro Reds that were nestled up against his heart all day. It is among her most prized possessions.
