The New York Jets and cornerback Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner have reportedly reached an agreement on a four-year, $120.4 million extension, which will make him the NFL's highest-paid cornerback at $30.1 million annually, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero on Tuesday (July 15).

The reported deal came one day after the Jets reached a long-term deal with wide receiver Garrett Wilson on Monday (July 14).

"he #Jets and All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner have agreed to terms on a massive new extension, making him the highest-paid CB in NFL history, per The Insiders. It’s a 4-year, $120.4M deal — $30.1M per year — done by his team - agent @ajv and @allantegardner of @vaynersports," Rapoport wrote on his X account. "For the second time in 2 days, the #Jets lock in a key part of their team. Yesterday, it was Garrett Wilson. Today? Sauce."

Gardner, 24, confirmed the reported agreement in a post shared on his X account Tuesday.

"THE DEAL IS DONE this only the beginning. my brother @allantegardner bts & @ajv got it done. I appreciate the Jets organization for believing in me, my teammates for the blood, sweat, & tears we put in, and JETS NATION... I appreciate y'all supporting me Thank you GOD," Gardner wrote.

Gardner was selected by the Jets at No. 4 overall and won the 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award, with Wilson, who was selected at No. 10 overall, winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award that same year. The Detroit native was selected as a First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler during his first two seasons and recorded 49 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and nine passes defended in 2024.
