Lainey Wilson revealed a sneak peek of an unreleased ballad on Tuesday afternoon (May 6).

The reigning Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year captioned the 36-second clip on TikTok, “my head’s 30,000 feet in the clouds.” The clip simply focuses on the singer-songwriter’s hand at the piano as she serenades viewers off-screen with “a new one I’ve been working on.” Wilson accompanied the sneak peek on Instagram with photos on a plane. She has not shared the title or announced a release date as of publication time on Wednesday morning (May 7).

Wilson’s latest single to release is “Bell Bottoms Up,” which she released last month ahead of National Bell Bottoms Day. The energetic anthem embraces the Grammy winner’s signature style, and takes on the same name as the bar she opened last year in Nashville, Tennessee. Wilson’s latest full studio record is Whirlwind, a highly-anticipated, 14-track album that arrived in August 2024. Whirlwind includes “Country’s Cool Again,” “Good Horses” with Miranda Lambert and “4x4xU,” one of the love songs she started writing in the midst of her relationship with her fiancé, former pro football quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges. Hodges popped the question earlier this year at late legend George Jones’ estate in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. Wilson said Hodges “makes it real easy to write love songs. …He’s a good person.”
