Trisha Yearwood said she was “overwhelmed” as she unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (March 24) in Los Angeles, California.

“It’s very surreal to be here. It’s such an honor. And the thing that makes it so special is the people who are here,” Yearwood said as she spoke at the ceremony. “I’m overwhelmed, honestly.”

The Georgia-born country artist, accompanied by husband and fellow country singer-songwriter Garth Brooks, received the 2,805th star on the iconic cultural landmark honoring some of the most accomplished entertainers, including actors, singers and more. Yearwood is known for unforgettable hits throughout her decades-long career (including “She’s In Love With The Boy,” “XXX’s And OOO’s (An American Girl),” “Walkaway Joe,” “How Do I Live,” and many more), her New York Times bestselling cookbooks, her philanthropic work, tons of awards and much more. Some of her most recent honors include the Academy of Country Music Icon Award and the inaugural CMT June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is honored to welcome renowned country singer Trisha Yearwood to the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame,” Walk of Fame Producer Ana Martinez said in a statement. “Her remarkable talent has touched the hearts of millions around the world.”

Grammy Award-winning country star Carly Pearce and beloved legend Reba McEntire delivered heartfelt remarks at the ceremony as Yearwood received her star on the Walk of Fame. Pearce said it was a “full circle moment” to honor Yearwood, who remains the “same down-to-earth girl she’s always been,” and a champion for the next generation of women in country. McEntire remembered meeting Yearwood for the first time at the Academy of Country Music Awards in the early 90s, when Yearwood was nominated for the New Female Vocalist honor. McEntire said she quickly loved Yearwood for her sense of humor and her unwavering friendship over the years. She told Yearwood, “I’m thrilled to pieces for you. …I love you with all my heart. Congratulations.”
