Carly Pearce said there’s more to the story about her healing journey after 29: Written in Stone.

The Grammy-winning country star announced on Friday morning (February 21) that she’ll deliver a deluxe edition of her latest album, hummingbird. Pearce also released one of the new tracks before hummingbird: no rain, no flowers arrives next month. She said when she shared details about the extended album: “‘hummingbird’ was my healing journey after ‘29.’ I felt like there were a few more songs to be shared before I close this chapter. ‘hummingbird: no rain, no flowers’ - the deluxe album - out march 14!!”

Pearce revealed the track list of hummingbird: no rain, no flowers, and released the deluxe title track, “no rain,” on Friday. The ballad’s debut arrives after several teasers on social media. Pearce shared a sneak peek last month “for all of us ready for a little sunshine after the storm,” singing: “No clouds, no lining/ No dirt, no diamond/ No low, no high/ No wrong, no right/ No break, no fixing/ No lose, no winning/ May might bring showers/ But no rain, no flowers.” Pearce also shared a vague response to a question about new music when she invited Instagram users to ask her anything on her Instagram story. One fan wondered whether the teasers indicated a deluxe edition of hummingbird, or a new project entirely, and Pearce simply responded with a shrug. See the deluxe track list here:

Pearce released the original 14-track record in June 2024. The highly-anticipated album marked Pearce’s first time in a producing role, alongside longtime collaborators Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. The record followed 29: Written in Stone, which released in 2021. That album included “What He Didn’t Do,” “Next Girl,” “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde and more, sharing Pearce’s stories of heartache after divorce. The Grand Ole Opry star said, in part, that she waited nearly three years to share her next project because “it has been a really crazy thing to heal. And what I mean by that is, I needed this time to figure out who I as after that chapter in my life, and this album represents so much life lived, so many things that I think if you’re on a healing journey, hopefully you’ll be able to relate to. …I hope that you see that no matter where you’re at, you’re right on time.”

“I have been working so hard on this album for the last few years, and it just feels awesome to finally have it out to the world and to see the way that people are loving it,” Pearce added of hummingbird in a previous interview with iHeartCountry. “I think I had a bigger voice and a bigger presence in not only the songwriting this round, but just in the production, and I really got to have a big hands-on part in how every single song sounded. …I feel like they [McAnally and Osborne] really understand me as an artist, and so, getting to go back into the studio this time around with them was just really awesome. We knew what we wanted to do.”

Pearce is in the midst of her ongoing world tour, and she said “the biggest payoff” to writing music is experiencing firsthand how it resonates with listeners. The deluxe album, hummingbird: no rain, no flowers, will release on March 14. Listen to “no rain” here:
