Megan Moroney unveiled a snippet of an unreleased heartache ballad on Wednesday morning (September 4), stirring eagerness for more new music less than two months after her hotly-anticipated sophomore album arrived.

Moroney captioned the audio clip on Instagram, “sooooo yeah the third time was in fact not the charm.” She referred to “Third Time’s the Charm,” one of the tracks that credits the Georgia-born artist as the sole songwriter on her newest full-length project, Am I Okay? The 14-track album released on July 12.

Moroney didn’t reveal details — including the title or a possible release date — about the ballad she teased on Wednesday; however, the sneak peek quickly garnered hundreds of comments gushing over the emotional song and wondering whether Moroney is planning a deluxe edition of Am I Okay?

“During a crazy touring schedule, on 14 different occasions, I sat down and impulsively wrote exactly how I was feeling, whether it was right or wrong,” Moroney reflected in a handwritten note to her fans as she released her highly-anticipated follow-up to Lucky. “If Am I Okay? feels more honest and vulnerable than anything I’ve released, it’s because you guys have made me feel comfortable enough to do that. ...By the time you get to the end of the album, a valid question would be ‘omg…is she okay?’ And I just want y’all to know that with you by my side, I’ll always be just fine.

“Going into making this record, I was getting a lot of outside opinions on what my second album should be,” Moroney added in a statement. “After a while I realized I just needed to stay true to how I started writing songs when I was 19, and then focus on making music that sonically supports the stories I’m telling. I did my best to block out all that outside noise, and just lead with honesty the whole way through.”

Moroney’s latest album blends heartbreaking ballads with upbeat anthems, including the title track, “No Caller ID,” “Man on the Moon,” “Indifferent” and more. Her latest teaser arrives as she kicks off a run of international shows on her headlining “Georgia Girl Tour” in the UK and Europe. Listen to Moroney’s sneak peek of an unreleased song here:
