Jelly Roll shared his support for singer-songwriter Victoria Monét after the “How Does It Make You Feel” artist won the Best New Artist category at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday evening (February 4). Jelly Roll also received a nod in that genre-spanning category, along with The War and Treaty, Noah Kahan and other artists.

The Whitsitt Chapel powerhouse took to X, formerly Twitter, to clarify his response to Monét’s victory at the Grammy Awards, hosted at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.

“Just so we are clear- Victoria Monèt deserved that award. She is incredible. She has been writing hits for everyone else for a long time, and she deserves every bit of this award . We come back next year stronger more nominations - I’m inspired,” Jelly Roll wrote in his post after the show on Sunday night. Other social media users replied to Jelly Roll to applaud his reaction.

The “Need A Favor” star, 39, said in a video he posted on social media it was “the greatest honor,” to hear he’d been nominated at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The announcement came shortly after Jelly Roll won New Artist of the Year at the 57th annual CMA Awards in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee, and delivered a powerful speech on the Bridgestone Arena stage.
