Runaway June is getting into the holiday spirit⦠The trio announced that his Friday (November 25), theyāre getting ready to release āCowboy for Christmas,ā and shared a brief snippet on social media to give fans a sneak peek.
The festive tune is one of the latest releases since the trio introduced its newest member, Stevie Woodward, to the group Woodward joined Natalie Stovall and Jennifer Wayne earlier this year after former lead singer Naomi Cooke Johnson left the group to pursue other projects. Woodward said on Instagram when she joined the group that sheās āso honored to be the newest member ofĀ [Runaway June]. cannot wait for the next chapter of life, and i wouldnāt want to do it with anyone else!ā
Runaway Juneās latest release is the heartbreak anthem, āBroken Hearts (Do Broken Things),ā which nods to the relatable feeling āof getting your heart broken and going out and doing some questionable things,ā Woodward previously explained, āso we wanted to make āBroken Heartsā feel as supportive and inclusive as possible.ā Wayne added that the three women sing the song in a way that makes the heartbreak a relatable experience rather than a personal one: āItās our way of telling people, āWe all screw up sometimes, but itās okay because youāre gonna get through it and come out the other side.ā I think thereās a real beauty in that.ā
Runaway Juneās next song will join a collection of other holiday music by country stars, including songs and albums by Dolly Parton, Thomas Rhett, Dan + Shay and more. See a list of more holiday music here.
