Charles Kelley shared an unreleased song that serves as his āgoodbye letter to alcohol,ā months after pledging to remain sober.
āI wrote āAs Far As You Couldā with my band mate Dave [Haywood] and the talented Jimmy Robbins and this is the demo,ā Kelley wrote in his Instagram caption on Tuesday (November 22). āThis song was very therapeutic to write and I hope it can meet someone where they are.ā
Kelleyās song quickly drew praise and support from his other Lady A bandmate, Hillary Scott, and Dan + Shayās Shay Mooney. Many Instagram users expressed that theyāre proud of Kelley and applauded the āpowerfulā and ābeautifulā song.
Kelley publicly shared his efforts to stay sober earlier this year. Lady A, deeming themselves a āfamilyā before theyāre a band, opted to postpone their previously-announced āRequest Line Tourā to support Kelleyās ājourney to sobriety,ā Lady A said in a statement at the time, adding that they ādetermined to do what will best set us up for many more years together.ā
After postponing the tour, Kelley shared a family selfie on Instagram to āthank everyone who has shown me so much support and encouragement so far on my journey of sobriety. ā¦Iām grateful for this time to focus on my family and my health.ā£ā
