Did you master a new hobby in the last year?
I spent most of the pandemic laying low, taking in deep scrolls on social media and finding new pillow positions to try out. So, when I stumbled on a recent survey that revealed the top 10 pandemic hobbies, I realized that I should have used my time more wisely.
Here is what the overachievers say they were doing during the pandemic.
- Doing something active (golf, running, yoga) - -35%
- Preparing food (baking, cooking) -- 34%
- Making art (drawing, painting, sketching) --- 34%
- Fiber arts (knitting, embroidery, sewing) -- 28%
- Playing an instrument -- 28%
- Speaking a language -- 28%
- Scrapbooking or papercraft -- 23%
- Model or miniature building -- 21%
- Photography, videography, or editing -- 17%
- Sculpture or pottery -- 17%
60% of those polled reported that they had improved their skills. 56% expect to be an "expert" at their hobby when the pandemic is over.
