Season 19 of 'American Idol' is underway, and Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie have returned to the judge's panel for the 2021 season.
This trio's chemistry is undeniable, and Luke is energized to hear the new prospect of talent to grace the Idol stage.
In a recent interview with Cody Alan, Luke dropped in to reveal the most interesting thing that is happening behind-the-scenes amongst the cast.
"It's interesting this year, you know, Katie is a new mother!" says the "Down To One" singer.
"She's coming in, and she's been up all night, and somedays I would look at her, and she would go, "Oh my god, you've got to help me through this day. I may mentally check out! Then, she can look at me when I have mentally checked out, and we can look at Lionel and everybody," laughs Luke. "We are a fun team. You know? We are like a football team out there."
Country music is one of America's favorite genres, and football is one of America's favorite sports. So, it's only fitting that there would be a comparison between the two.
