Dierks Bentley is making big strides with his recent release of "Gone."
On the heels of his last single, "Living," "Gone" is a reflective new tune that opens up the conversation of living through heartbreak and attempting to move forward.
While the song is one that many of us can relate to, did you know that fellow country star Niko Moon penned it?
In a recent interview with Cody Alan, the "Good Time" singer explains how the song came about.
"I wrote "Gone" with my friends Nicolle Galyon and Ben Johnson. This was pre-COVID," laughs Niko. "Which was really ironic, ya know, because the song talks about being stuck at home, but in your mind, you are going somewhere else."
"I think when we were talking, we had all had previous relationships to our current ones that kind of ended in a way where we were all in that type of situation for a moment," reveals Niko. "I think it's a really common experience to have when you have a really intense heartbreak. Mentally you start to remember every little situation that happened so you can make sense of it."
Moving on is never easy, but thankfully Dierks decided to stick around and release this track.
"I just thought it was a great title for the times right now," says Dierks in a press release. "I've heard a lot of songs this summer, and some are about the situation we're all going through."
