Bebe Rexha Thought She Was Collaborating with Little Big Town

Before “Meant to Be” became a bona fide smash, singer Bebe Rexha experienced a case of mistaken country group identity.

The pop star collaborates on the chart topper with Florida Georgia Line and co-wrote it with the duo’s Tyler Hubbard, but she originally thought she was joining forces with Little Big Town.

“I can’t lie,” she told CMT’s Cody Alan exclusively. “I had met Little Big Town at one of the awards [shows]. When I walked in the studio, I saw Tyler there, and I said ‘Where are the other band members?’ I told Tyler and he started laughing.”

“Meant to Be” has since gone on to break records on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with a stay at No. 1 for 21 weeks, longer than any other country song with a female lead vocalist.

The song this week peaks at No. 1 on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country charts.

“Wow. We are extremely grateful for this one,” FGL tweeted of their 14th-career No. 1 song. “Thank you country radio and our fans for showing this song as much love as we do and for getting it #1. Always thankful for y'all…and @BebeRexha you CRUSHED IT.”

“Meant to Be” will appear on Bebe’s debut studio album Expectations, set for release June 22.
