Tom Petty’s family is mourning the loss of the late singer, who passed away on Monday, October 2, after suffering full cardiac arrest.
The icon’s youngest daughter, AnnaKim Violette Petty, shared emotional Instagram posts while standing by her dad’s side at the hospital yesterday.
“96 tears was the first song my dad taught me to play thank you for all the love this has been the longest day of my life💜,” she captioned a selfie of herself wearing a sentimental jacket that her father had made for her.
“My dad had matching stage clothes made for me as a kid this jacket still fits me made by glen Palmer from granny takes a trip when I got the call to come to the hospital I grabbed this jacket and I'm still wearing it⚡️,” she explained in another Instagram post.
AnnaKim also changed her Instagram handle to “dadlivesmatteronelove” in honor of her dad.
In the many snaps posted to her Instagram, she expressed her love for her father, writing alongside one photo, “I love you my angel 💜.”
The “Free Fallin” singer was 66. He's survived by AnnaKim, his other daughter Adria and his wife, Dana York.
