Doctor: Tommy Ford's Aneurysm Possibly There Since Birth

In an interview with HollywoodLife, a doctor opened up about the possible circumstances that pertain to Tommy Ford's death

Dr. Carol Richardson-Te told the site, “An aneurysm is congenital sometimes.” This means that the aneurysm that led to Ford's death could've been there since his birth. Even more shocking? Many congenital aneurysms go undetected.

“It is something that just happens, you could have a malformation of an artery. These things are asymptomatic and they don’t present themselves with anything until you find them, because you are looking for something else," Dr. Richardson-Te explained. "Or for some reason, something in that area causes you to look under imaging and you find it.”

The doc continued that many medical professionals miss them because people who have aneurysms don't show symptoms and docs may not search in parts of the body they may be in, if there isn't a reason to. “When do we do a brain imaging? — During trauma or with unexplained headaches, altered mental status and things like that,” she said.

Just two short weeks ago, Ford had knee replacement surgery. This known fact caused many to believe that this surgery made him develop his would-be fatal aneurysm. However, Dr. Richardson-Te said that this isn't the case. “A knee surgery would not cause an aneurysm. The aneurysm is totally unrelated” the doc affirmed.

Since his death, Ford's family has since released a statement to iHeartRadio that read:

"It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, husband, and friend Tommy Mykal Ford. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. Please respect the privacy of the Ford family during our time of grief.”
