Ashley McBryde performed one of her favorite Dolly Parton songs on a historic stage in honor of the beloved country legend.

McBryde shared a clip on Instagram on Thursday (October 1), reminiscing on an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. The Wild artist covered Parton’s White Limozeen anthem, “Why'd You Come in Here Lookin' Like That,” released in the late ‘80s.

“Why'd you come in here lookin' like that/ In your cowboy boots and your painted-on jeans/ All decked out like a cowgirl's dream/Why'd you come in here looking like that”

“Most of my favorite Dolly songs weren’t ever on the radio. But THIS ONE was!” McBryde wrote in her caption. “It makes me get up and jump around every time. Honoring the Patron Saint of Dreamers on the Opry stage is a true joy and privilege. Long live the Queen.”

Parton “died peacefully” on August 25 in Nashville, according to an official statement issued at the time. She was 80. Her representatives later said in a statement to PEOPLE, “after bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones.” Parton was laid to rest in a private service for immediate family beside her husband of nearly six decades, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025. He was 82.
