Priscilla Block delivered a stunning cover of a hit song by Jason Aldean.
Block shared the video on Instagram on Tuesday (September 3). The North Carolina-born “My Bar” singer, 29, said “The Truth” it’s “one of my all time favorite” songs by Aldean. He released the heartache single on his 2009 album, Wide Open, a project that also included “Crazy Town,” “She’s Country,” “Big Green Tractor” and more.
“Just don't tell 'em I've gone crazy/ That I'm still strung out over you/ Tell 'em anything you want to/ Just don't tell 'em all the truth/ Yeah, don't tell 'em all the truth”
Block added in her Instagram caption, “[Ashley Monroe] saw a clip of you singing this at the bluebird the other night and it inspired me to pick up my guitar and play it. Thank you for writing this song for the world 💙” Monroe penned “The Truth” with songwriter Brett James, and performed it at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee. The intimate, storied venue has hosted performances by legendary singer-songwriters and rising artists for decades.
Block’s most recent song to release is “Good On You,” followed by the acoustic version that debuted last month. Aldean announced on Friday (August 30) that he and Luke Bryan “teamed up with one of our country music heroes for a new take on a classic song,” he wrote in a caption on Instagram. It’s set to arrive on September 13.
