LeAnn Rimes performed a song powerful enough to bring listeners ā and even herself ā to tears. But, she said with a laugh, ācommunal crying is good for the soul.ā
Rimes performed āinnocentā on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, one of her newest songs that released on her album godās work earlier this month. She admitted when she shared a clip of the performance on Instagram on Thursday (September 22) that itās an emotional song, and seeing hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager react to it made all the difference: āiām not sure how i made it through this performance without crying, but after seeingĀ [Kotb]Ā &Ā [Hager], I lost it⦠communal crying is good for the soul lolā¦ā
Rimes released godās work on September 16, āa beautiful journeyā ā three years in the making ā and serves as the dawn of a ānew chapterā for the award-winning artist. She previously explained that she opted to keep the album and song titles all lowercased because, āif weāre arguing about why the āgā is or isnāt capitalized, weāre missing the whole point. Itās so important for us to focus on the messages, rather than the nuances.ā She spoke about the project with iHeartRadio when it released. Read her Q&A here.
godās work also includes āspaceship,ā āthe only,ā āawakening,ā āthe wildā and other powerful, fan-favorite tracks. Watch Rimesā full performance of āinnocentā on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna here, and see her Instagram post below:Ā
